Medium to large, irregularly shaped, distinctly five-sided, flattened fruit with slight ribbing. Thin, glossy, smooth skin is striped and mottled pale red over very light yellow. Fine grained, crisp, juicy, tender flesh. Subacid, aromatic, sprightly flavor that’s similar to Northern Spy and improves after frost. Very juicy, excellent cider apple. Cooks down to a very fine sauce. Exceptionally long storage life. Small tree bears early; prolific, hardy, moderately biennial. Ripens in mid to late October. Hangs long on the tree. Possible parent of northern Spy.

Rootstock: G969: 12-15ft, 15 ft between trees. Semi-dwarf, 12-15ft, resistant to fire blight, crown rot, and woolly apple aphid with good cold hardiness.
