Sundial Lupine

A beautiful, nitrogen-fixing lupine that’s native to the Northeast and Great Lakes region (not to be confused with the Western Lupine (Lupinus polyphyllus), which is invasive here!). Gorgeous flowers that are typically bluish purple, blooming from May to July. It does well in dry, rocky, or gravelly soil, but it can also thrive in loamy soil, as long as it’s well-drained. Sundial lupine can be found in both disturbed areas (like roadsides) as well as less disturbed areas like woodland edges.
