St. Edmund’s Russet (aka St. Edmunds Pippin) is considered the most beautiful of all russets. It’s a uniformly flat-round fruit, entirely covered with a flawless, smooth, pure golden or fawn colored russet. It as very juicy, crisp, yellowish flesh and a rich, pear-like flavor reminiscent of Seckel. It makes an excellent cider. The tree is a heavy, annual cropper. Ripens in early September. Listed among the six best apples grown in English, and regarded as the best early russet.

Rootstock: G969: 12-15ft, 15 ft between trees. Semi-dwarf, 12-15ft, resistant to fire blight, crown rot, and woolly apple aphid with good cold hardiness.
