sold out
A fast growing tree with fragrant, mitten-shaped leaves. This plant is adaptable to most growing locations and light but will grow best in well-drained, fertile soil in full sun. In the autumn blazes of yellow, red, and orange adorn this beauty. As with many members of its family (Lauracea) it has fragrance upon fragrance. It has a spice that is certainly nice and the roots are the source of oil of sassafras used in perfumes and soap making. It also was one of the main ingredients in root beer flavoring. One cannot speak highly enough of this plant.
