Pomme d'Or
Pomme d’Or (Golden apple) has unknown parentage and was found located near Fort Kent, Maine in 1998. Large, rectangular-shaped, faint yellow fruit. Large open core is partially filled with a sweet nectar. Matures to a rich golden color. Good as a summer cooking apple and for fresh eating. Beautiful and quite rare. Extremely hardy. Rootstock: G969: 12-15ft, 15 ft between trees. Semi-dwarf, 12-15ft tall at maturity, resistant to fire blight, crown rot, and woolly apple aphid with good cold hardiness.
