It’s a medium-sized apple with attractive cream and green skin, sometimes blushed with red cheek in warmer areas. It has striking, bright pink flesh. It has a rich, sweet flavor and a fine aroma. It’s a good dessert quality apple and makes colorful applesauce and pie filling. Also stores well. Medium to large tree, blooms early with a highly ornamental profusion of crimson pink blossoms. Ripens during September. Introduced in 1944.

Rootstock: G969: 12-15ft, 15 ft between trees. Semi-dwarf, 12-15ft, resistant to fire blight, crown rot, and woolly apple aphid with good cold hardiness.
