The Pagoda Dogwood has lovely tiered branching and sweet-smelling white flowers. This large shrub/small tree is attractive to not only the grower and caretaker but also to many birds, mammals, and pollinating insects. The name Pagoda comes from its the tiered branching structure that the plant displays which makes it easy to admire. It’s a larval host to the Spring Azure butterfly, and it prefers moist, well-drained soils in a shady spot.
