The American persimmon is a native, hardy, deciduous tree renowned for its vibrant orange fruit and outstanding Fall Color. Native to the eastern U.S., it has glossy, dark green leaves. The small, sweet persimmons ripen in late autumn, while its blocky, textured bark adds year-round interest to the landscape. Its sizes varies greatly, depending on the soil conditions - it will stay closer to 20 ft in old fields, or grow up to 100 ft in rich, moist soil conditions. It has deep roots which lends itself to increased longevity.
