As its name implies, this apply reaches massive proportions! It’s an attractive fruit with broad, red stripes over greeniss background. The skin has the peculiar peened surface found on Granny Smith. Semi-firm white flesh. It’s a high quality apple, considered a premier dessert and cooking apple for more than 100 years. Medium size, vigorous tree that bears young. Ripens unevenly during September or October. Originated in upstate New York in 1840.
