A shrub growing up to 15’ tall and 10’with round leaves and white flowers. Prefers moist, well-drained soils, although it is drought tolerant when established. Many different types of birds are attracted to the berries that persist into winter. It is an exceptionally ornamental tree/shrub that makes for a good replacement for other non-native plants commonly used in modern horticulture. It is also the larval host to the Spring Azure and Gossamer Wing butterflies.
